Why Oracy

Our dynamic teaching methods unlock potential, helping students thrive in both education and life.

01The Communication Issue

There is growing evidence of a communication crisis among young people entering the world of work, with employers increasingly reporting that many graduates and school leavers lack the speaking, listening and broader interpersonal skills needed to thrive. Our Oracy programme directly addresses this gap.

To create school cultures where high quality talk is explicitly taught, consistently modelled, and embedded across every phase and subject, ensuring that every pupil develops the confidence, clarity, and critical thinking skills to express themselves effectively across cultures and contexts.
Our Oracy programme equips young people with the confidence and clarity to express their ideas, the discipline to listen with intent, and the critical thinking skills to engage thoughtfully with others. Its outcomes extend beyond improved speaking and listening: students become more articulate, more self-aware and more collaborative prepared not only for academic success, but for meaningful participation in the workplace and wider society.
04The Oracy Impact

Through our programmes, both pupils and teachers consistently share powerful testimonials about the impact of our Oracy provision on confidence, communication and classroom engagement. Pupils describe feeling more able to articulate their ideas and participate in discussion, while teachers report noticeable improvements in students’ clarity of expression, listening skills and overall readiness to learn.

Our curriculum offers a wide range of opportunities for both students and teachers to develop their Oracy skills, including online programmes, confidence camps, whole school Impact Weeks, and CPD masterclasses. These varied formats ensure that Oracy is embedded across the school, providing practical, engaging, and continuous development for everyone involved.

Our Oracy curriculum is informed by the latest research from industry and leading universities, ensuring that every lesson is grounded in proven strategies for developing communication skills. This evidence based approach allows us to create innovative, engaging lessons that actively build pupils’ speaking, listening, and critical thinking abilities in ways that are relevant to both school and future workplace contexts.
